For me, being able to play a movie by simply plugging a cable into a USB port is a must! I have had a few media players and I kinda know what’s best for people like me. First, I started doing some research about the different media players available on the market, because I knew I had specific needs. Then after the research, I heard some great things about the WD media player range. I was careful with my decision because I really didn’t want to be disappointed. With this in mind, I decided to go for a WD TV HD media player, more commonly known as WD media player. I had the chance to have a colleague who got this media player before me. I found the viewer’s experience to be amazing! The quality of this WD media player was clearly not to be proven anymore. That’s probably one of the reasons why the WD TV HD media player range has become such a popular choice among people wanting to upgrade their home entertainment system. Also, the fact that I could connect it to the internet played an important part in my decision. The internet-enabled media player is about the same price than the standard version, and for me it’s definitely worth the money! Storage space is never a problem with a WD media player because with the USB ports you can connect several external hard drives. I have a 1TB hard drive so as you can imagine I have more than enough storage space. I don’t like to compress my movie files because, in my opinion, when you compress the quality is compromised. This is something I really want to avoid otherwise there’s no point having a WD HD TV media player. You can approximately have 200 movies in high definition on a 1TB hard drive. If you want more space, then get a 2 or 4TB external hard drive. They’re now much cheaper than they use to be.

I use a DVD decrypter software to back up my DVDs to the hard drive. With this software, I transfer movies from the DVD itself to the media player, so I don’t really mind if my DVDs are defective. I store the files in VOB format in a specific folder on my hard drive. I also sometimes convert these files into MPEG files, which is pretty handy because it saves storage space, but the quality remains more than acceptable. The quality of the high definition and standard definition movies I watch with my WD TV HD media player is fabulous. This WD media player was a great buy! I am happy with the sound experience as well.
